The synergy between Entergy Mississippi, local communities and businesses is driving revitalization and economic growth in the Magnolia state. Through a variety of unique initiatives, Entergy is helping communities in their service territory become more competitive, laying the groundwork for business location and expansion. For prospective businesses, Mississippi community preparedness means simplified site preparation, industrial building improvements, community vitality, and a well-trained workforce. State and community associations bring together people and organizations that have the same goals.
For instance, a community association for universal access to health care could bring together health care representatives with representatives from groups that have traditionally not had access. Together, they could work to make changes across the community that would affect access for all. Specific changes could be made to local community organizations, health organizations, businesses, schools, government, financial institutions and the religious community, all with the overall goal of everyone having access to health care. Therefore, community policing approaches are fundamentally multisectoral because they promote organizational strategies that facilitate collaborative relationships between diverse community stakeholders. It is increasingly clear that an important focus of community interventions must be to build trust between law enforcement and local communities.
The CTSA program has grown and evolved over time to reach more than 60 organizations. While financial support for community participation initiatives has declined in recent years, engaging patients and communities at all stages of the process of putting research into practice remains an objective of the program. In order to create lasting change that lasts longer than the duration of the funding, it is essential to finance both the capacity of all participants to participate fully and the development of new leaders within communities. Through these partnerships, Entergy Mississippi is on a mission to help local communities gain economic development opportunities and prepare for future growth. The Minnesota Department of Health founded the Healthy Minnesota Partnership, a multisectoral coalition (specifically transportation, education, and community organizations) to inform the development and implementation of a state plan for evaluating health and improving community health. As described in this report, communities are where change occurs, and community members are better equipped to know what is needed to bring about change in their community.
This will require careful monitoring of the development of community initiatives that equitably benefit poor and long-term residents of surrounding communities. To ensure that the Mississippi workforce is prepared for this influx of industry, Entergy Mississippi is working with community leaders to increase its talent pool. Porter (20) described how reference institutions should view the viability of the community as a fundamental factor in the long-term success of a presenter in hiring, hiring and the quality of life of the workforce. He stated that when presenters make progress working with the communities most in need, this can help create “the greatest shared value” (Porter, 20).To accelerate economic growth, communities are collaborating with Entergy Mississippi to share the state's many benefits with prospective businesses. In addition, Mississippi offers easy access to six major interstate highways, five Class 1 railroads and the Mississippi River (six ports are within Entergy's service territory).
This order builds on recent work to facilitate inter-agency and community-level collaboration to meet the unique needs of communities in a way that reflects their local assets, economies, geography, size, history, strengths, talent networks and visions for their future. In addition, there is a great difference in power between a group of such prominent actors and communities and community members.
